Letter from the volunteers of the Austin Humanitarian Service Committee - Austin HAC

Assalamo Alykom & May the Peace be with you

Thank you for taking the time to read these few lines about the Austin Humanitarian Assistance Committee (Austin HAC).

Austin HAC is a committee of dedicated Muslim professionals who are resident of the Greater Austin Area. The committee is a project of the North Austin Muslim Community Center (NAMCC) to provide Humanitarian Services to families and individuals. Currently, we only extend the Humanitarian Services to the Greater Austin Area residents.

Austin HAC was established in 2001 to respond to the growing needs of this community. Since its establishment, Austin HAC has served over a 100 local Austin needy families and refugees.

We deliver our Humanitarian Services in many forms such as: Food, Clothing, Shelter, and other social services.

Our mission is to gain Allah’s blessings and reward by providing Humanitarian Services to needy families. Our Holy Book Al-Quran Al-Kareen teaches us in Surat Al –Insan (a chapter called Man #76) verses 5-22 about the great reward for those who provide such services to needy families and individuals. The verses are so beautiful and clear that one simply has to read them to see the true driver behind our volunteer work:

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
76.5 As to the Righteous. They shall drink of a Cup (its content are) mixed with Kafur,
76.6 A Fountain where the Devotees of Allah do drink, making it flow in unstinted abundance.
76.7 They perform their vows, and they fear a Day whose evil flies far and wide.
76.8 And they feed, for the love of Allah, the indigent, the orphan, and the captive,
76.9 (Saying), "We feed you for the sake of Allah alone: no reward do we desire from you, nor thanks.
76.10 "We only fear a Day, of distressful Wrath from the side of our Lord."
76.11 Allah will deliver them from the evil of that Day, and will shed over them a Light of Beauty and a blissful Joy.
76.12 And because they were patient and constant, He will reward them with a Garden and (garments of) silk.
76.13 Reclining in the (Garden) on raised thrones, they will see there neither the sun's (excessive heat) nor (the moon's) excessive cold.
76.14 And the shades of the (Garden) will come low over them, and the bunches (of fruit), there, will hang low in humility.
76.15 And amongst them will be passed round vessels of silver and goblets of crystal,
76.16 Crystal-clear, made of silver: they will determine the measure thereof (according to their wishes).
76.17 And they will be given to drink there of a Cup (its contents are) mixed with Zanjabil,
76.18 A fountain there, called Salsabil.
76.19 And round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness): if thou seest them, thou wouldst think them scattered Pearls.
76.20 And when thou lookest, it is there thou wilt see a Bliss and a Realm Magnificent. 76.21 Upon them will be green Garments of fine silk and heavy brocade, and they will be adorned with Bracelets of silver; and their Lord will give to them to drink of a Wine pure and Holy.
76.22 "Verily this is a Reward for you, and your Endeavor is accepted and recognized."

We continue to make the Dua (supplications) to Allah - the All Mighty - that He makes us among those people whose endeavors are accepted and recognized, and reward us his blessings and forgiveness. Ameen.

Dear Brothers, Sisters and Friends:
The verses above stated our mission for this volunteer work. If you are like us, believe in Allah’s promise and believe in the importance of Humanitarian Services to needy families, then we ask you to support us and extend your generous help to those in need.

Austin HAC is 100% volunteer work. All your charity donations (Sadaqa and Zakah) are distributed 100% to the needy families in Austin. You cannot find many organizations where your donations are 100% spent on the cause it was donated for. Austin HAC is one of those few projects who will deliver such service.

Your Charity and Donations (Sadaqa or Zakah) to NAMCC Humanitarian Fund might be federal tax deductible (please check with your tax advisor) and it will be spent locally in the Greater Austin Area. Don’t pass this opportunity to help us help those who are in need.

Assalamo Alykom,
Austin HAC Volunteers
